Morning Coffee

Coffee

Crawl out from the covers to broad daylight
Feet shiver each sliver as you alight
Shuffle on over, the brushes await
Hair, teeth and back all awaiting their fate

Shampoo trickles down, there’s some for each eye
Flushed was the toilet now time to drip dry
Into fresh clothing a great way to start
Pressed like a pancake and ready to dart

Smell of great coffee, it cuts like a knife
A cup of the brew, it brings out the life
Tip the mug back and a swig it goes down
A smile on the face like that of a clown.
