Ladybird or Ladybug

Tiptoe ever gently, six feet yet none with shoes
Ladybird, ladybug, whichever name you choose
One is not a bird and the other not a bug
Yellow, black and scarlet a beetle in a rug

Lady is for Mary, Our Lady many know
Good Luck Bug, another name, red and white Bordeaux
Peaceful at the best of times, little harm they do
Climbing up a tree branch, or up top of your shoe

Don’t count spots to see how old that just does not work
Some believe spots bring good luck, never with a smirk
They do sleep when food is short, keeps a healthy way
Known worldwide by many, good nature they convey.
